### 6. Tefal Easy Fry Dual XXL EY942

7.6 out of 10

The biggest total capacity here at 11L, split into a 6.5L and a 4.5L drawer. Good for batch cooking and big family meals, if you have the space.

Why it's here:

- Unequal drawers: 6.5L for mains and 4.5L for sides
- Synchronised cooking so both drawers finish together
- Dishwasher-safe non-stick baskets
- Strong 2700W output for quick cooking

Keep in mind:

- Wide, at about 46cm across, and heavy

### 7. Breville Halo Flexi 11L Oven & Large Mesh Tray VDF138

7.5 out of 10

Why it's here:

- Single 11L space or two zones with the divider
- Fits a whole chicken
- Sync and Match settings plus ten one-touch presets
- Includes a large mesh tray

Keep in mind:

- 2000W and up to 240°C for fast, hot cooking

[Check price on Amazon](https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CP43NP25)

### 9. Instant Vortex Plus Dual Drawer with ClearCook 140-3126-01-UK

7.3 out of 10

The dual-drawer pick for people who like to watch their food. Each 3.8L drawer has its own window and light, and SyncFinish lines up two different dishes.

## Before you buy

### Which air fryer is the best?

It depends on who you cook for. A dual-drawer model such as the Ninja AF300UK, Instant Vortex Plus Dual Drawer or Philips 3000 Dual suits a family that wants a main and a side ready together. A compact single basket such as the Ninja AF140UK or Cosori Lite 3.8L suits one or two people. We compared 19 models and ranked these ten from owner ratings, so the order reflects what people who bought them report.

### What size air fryer do I need?

As a rule of thumb: 2L to 4L suits one or two people, 4.5L to 6L suits a family of three, and 7L or more (usually dual drawer) suits a family of four or batch cooking. Check the usable space too, because a 7.6L machine split into two 3.8L drawers holds less per drawer than one 7L basket. Larger machines also need more worktop: the Tefal is around 46cm wide, and the Ninja AF300UK weighs around 8kg.

### Is a dual drawer air fryer better than a single basket?

For families, usually yes. Two drawers let you cook different foods at different temperatures and finish them together, using features such as Sync Finish, Smart Finish or Match Cook. Owners say both drawers brown evenly on the better models. The trade-offs are size, weight, two parts to clean and a higher price. A single basket costs less and is quieter, and an oven-style model like the Breville Halo Flexi suits large roasts better.

### Are air fryers cheaper to run than an oven?

Usually, yes. A 2,400W dual air fryer running for 20 minutes uses roughly 0.8kWh, which costs around 20p at about 26p per kWh. A full-size electric oven uses 1kWh to 1.5kWh once it has preheated, so a small meal costs more there. Smaller air fryers of 1,300W to 1,400W cost less again. For a large roast or several trays at once, the oven can still be the better option.

### Are air fryer coatings safe, and what is non-stick made of?

Most air fryer baskets use a PTFE-based non-stick coating, which is considered safe at normal air fryer temperatures when undamaged. If it flakes or scratches, replace the basket. PFAS-free ceramic options exist, for example on some Cuisinart models, so check the product page if this matters to you. Use silicone or wooden tools, and avoid metal utensils.

### How do I clean an air fryer?

Unplug it and let it cool, then wash the basket and crisper plate in warm soapy water, or put them in the dishwasher if the maker says they are dishwasher-safe. Most models here have dishwasher-safe baskets, but check the manual. Wipe the inside with a damp cloth and clean the heating element area gently once it is cool. In hard-water areas, a quick wipe after each use stops limescale building up.

## How we ranked these ten

Every score here comes from our ranking model, not from anyone's opinion. It weighs owner ratings by how many there are, how recent they are and how reliable they look, then factors in value. We compared 19 models for this guide before settling on these ten.

Brands can't pay to be included or to move up. We last checked these picks in October 2026.
