The full reviews

1.Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone AF400UK
The benchmark. Two independent 4.75L drawers with Sync mode mean a full family meal finishes at the same moment, and owners rate its crisping consistency higher than any rival.
Why it's here
- Two fully independent 9.5L-total drawers with Sync finish
- Owners consistently praise even crisping
- Dishwasher-safe baskets and crisper plates
- Six functions incl. dehydrate
Keep in mind
- Big countertop footprint (needs 42cm depth)
- Fan is noticeably loud at max
- Premium price for a fryer-only appliance

2.COSORI TurboBlaze 6.0L
Performance that embarrasses fryers twice the price. TurboBlaze's stronger fan preheats in minutes and crisps nearly as well as our top pick.
Why it's here
- Near-flagship crisping at a mid-range price
- Very fast preheat and cook times
- Quiet 53dB operation
- 9 functions with sensible presets
Keep in mind
- Single drawer only
- Some owners report coating wear after heavy use

3.Philips 5000 Series XXL Connected HD9285
The quietest, most refined air fryer here. Owners report RapidAir tech cooks remarkably evenly, and the app's guided recipes actually earn their place.
Why it's here
- Reviewers call it the quietest by a clear margin
- Exceptionally even results, no shaking needed
- Genuinely useful app with UK recipes
- Premium build that will outlast cheaper rivals
Keep in mind
- Single basket, so no dual-zone cooking
- Costs more than some mini ovens

4.Tower T17088 Vortx 9L Dual Basket
A small step up from the Salter: bigger baskets and a three-year warranty for a little more money. Cuts corners in refinement, not in results.
Why it's here
- Dual-basket cooking at a budget price
- Big 9L combined capacity
- Three-year warranty on registration
Keep in mind
- Dated, unresponsive control panel
- Uneven browning when baskets are fully loaded
- No viewing windows

5.Russell Hobbs SatisFry Air Large 5L
The dependable single-basket workhorse. Nothing flashy, but owners keep saying the same thing: it just works, year after year, and it's the cheapest fryer here.
Why it's here
- Proven reliability across thousands of long-term owners
- Family-size 5L basket at a budget price
- Simple dial controls anyone can use
Keep in mind
- No smart features or presets
- Basket coating marks easily
- Slower preheat than newer rivals

6.Instant Vortex Plus VersaZone 8.5L
The clever one: a single huge drawer that splits in two with a divider, plus a ClearCook window so you stop opening the drawer to peek.
Why it's here
- One large zone or two, and the divider genuinely works
- ClearCook window and internal light
- Syncs two zones to finish together
Keep in mind
- Divider seal is fiddly to clean
- Exterior runs warm during long cooks

7.Tefal Easy Fry Dual XXL EY942BG0
A dependable dual-drawer alternative to the Ninja with a bigger 11L total capacity, let down slightly by slower cook times.
Why it's here
- Huge 11L total capacity across two drawers
- Solid, even results on default settings
- Simple, clear controls
Keep in mind
- Slower than rivals at equivalent settings
- Drawers feel lighter-weight than the Ninja's

8.Salter EK4750BLK Dual Air Fryer 7.4L
The budget route into dual-drawer cooking. Sync and match modes at a price the big names can't touch, though the build reflects the cost.
Why it's here
- Cheapest dual-drawer here with sync and match
- Two independent 3.7L drawers
- 2400W with six presets
Keep in mind
- Drawers are small for a family roast
- Build quality reflects the price
- Shorter one-year warranty

9.Xiaomi Smart Air Fryer Pro 6.5L
The smart-home bargain. Full app control, scheduled cooking and a viewing window for less than half the price of the connected Philips.
Why it's here
- App scheduling and remote control at a budget price
- Viewing window with internal light
- Quiet operation for the power
Keep in mind
- App occasionally loses connection
- Instructions lean heavily on the app
- UK recipe presets are limited

10.Breville Halo Flexi 11L Air Fryer
The flexible mega-drawer: one huge 11L zone or two independent ones via a removable divider, undercutting the big dual-drawer names on price.
Why it's here
- 11L single zone or split dual cooking
- Cheaper than equivalent Ninja and Tefal duals
- Wide, shallow drawers suit whole fish and pizzas
Keep in mind
- Bulky on the worktop
- Divider mode loses some heat separation
- Smaller review base than the big names
Before you buy
What size air fryer do I need?
As a rule of thumb: 2–4L suits 1–2 people, 5–6L a family of 3–4, and 8L+ (usually dual-drawer) a family of 4+ or batch cooking. Dual-drawer models like our top pick let you cook a main and a side at once, which matters more than raw litres for family meals.
Are air fryers cheaper to run than an oven?
Usually, yes. A typical 1,800W air fryer running 20 minutes uses roughly 0.6kWh (about 15p at current UK rates), versus 1–1.5kWh for a full-size oven that also needs preheating. For small and medium portions the saving is significant; for very large roasts an oven can still win.
Dual drawer or single basket: which should I buy?
Dual-drawer models cook two foods at different settings and sync them to finish together, which is what makes them so good for family meals. Single-basket models are cheaper, smaller on the worktop, and simpler to clean. If you mostly cook for one or two, a good single basket like the COSORI is better value.
What wattage should I look for?
Most full-size models run 1,700–2,470W. Higher wattage generally means faster preheat and better crisping, but capacity matters more: a 2,400W dual-zone spread across 9.5L is not "hotter" than a 1,700W 4L single basket.
Is air-fried food actually healthier?
Compared with deep frying, substantially: air frying uses up to 80–90% less oil for similar textures. Compared with oven baking, it's nutritionally similar; the benefit is speed and energy use rather than health.
How do you decide the rankings on this page?
Scores come from our confidence-weighted model built on owner ratings, weighted by recency, volume and reliability. Brands can't pay for placement, and affiliate earnings have no input into scores. See our methodology page.
How we ranked these ten
Every score here comes from our ranking model, not from anyone's opinion. It weighs owner ratings by how many there are, how recent they are and how reliable they look, then factors in value. We compared 64 models for this guide before settling on these ten.
Brands can't pay to be included or to move up. We last checked these picks on 16 July 2026.
